LOGGER FAMILY NEWSLETTER NOVEMBER 2025

The first grading period has officially come to a close, and report cards should be arriving in the mail this week. Many families already received them during last week’s parent-teacher conferences. As we return to our regular routine, it’s important that we all stay focused on academics and uphold our school expectations to ensure continued success.

Dress Code Reminder

We enjoyed seeing all the creative outfits during Red Ribbon Week as we promoted a drug-free school environment. Now that we’re back to our regular dress code, please remember that students need to wear a top in their grade-level color.

With the cooler weather, students may wear hoodies, sweaters, and sweatshirts as long as they are the correct color. Any brand is allowed, as long as the color matches the grade level. If a student arrives without the proper color top, they will be sent to the parent liaison during 1st hour to borrow a shirt for the day. Thank you for helping us keep our school spirit strong and consistent!

Student ID Reminder

To help keep our building safe, all students are required to wear their Student IDs every day. IDs will be checked as students enter the building each morning. Students must wear their IDs visibly around their necks throughout the entire school day.

If a student needs a replacement ID, there is a $5 fee. They must fill out the ID Request Form to receive a replacement. Payment can be made in the main office after the replacement ID is issued. Thank you for helping us maintain a safe and secure school environment!

Next PTCO Meeting: November 14th

We warmly invite all parents and guardians to join us for the next PTCO meeting on Thursday, November 14th at 4:30 PM in room 107. This is a wonderful opportunity to get involved, share your ideas, and help our school continue to grow and improve. Your voice and participation make a real difference in creating the best possible experience for our students. We hope to see you there!

Lincoln Expectations

Grade level principals will be visiting classrooms to review school expectation and the Student Code of Conduct.

Please make sure to review these with your student to help ensure they are successful.

  • Keep your hands and feet to yourself
  • Walk in the hallways
  •  No play fighting or horseplay
  • Use appropriate language
  • No phone use during school hours
  • Arrive to class on time

Attendance

Attendance Matters

In 2023, our school was designated as an Intensive school. Thanks to focused efforts, we have shown growth in math and reading over the past few years, improving our status from Intensive to Targeted Summative. Our goal is to continue this progress and become a Commendable school in the coming years.

Student attendance is critical to making this goal a reality. A student is considered chronically absent if they miss 10% or more of the school year. Good attendance strongly correlates with academic growth—simply put, students can’t learn if they aren’t in school.

Please prioritize sending your child to school every day. If you need support or have concerns, our counselors and parent liaisons are here to help. Together, we can ensure every student has the opportunity to succeed.

For more details, please review Lincoln’s Illinois School Report Card.

Grades

Teachers update grades weekly as students progress. 1st quarter report cards have been mailed home. We encourage families to monitor progress anytime via the Home Access Center. Second quarter progress reports will be mailed the week of November 17th.

For grading details, see our grading policy. Students are encouraged to retake summative assessments if needed; retake policies vary by teacher. Please contact your child’s teachers through the staff directory for more information.
